In modern times, most casinos have security measures to prevent cheating and theft by both patrons and employees. For example, some casinos have catwalks in the ceiling above the gaming floor which allow surveillance personnel to look directly down at the tables and slot machines from a vantage point above. Additionally, many casinos have cameras throughout the facility to provide surveillance in other areas as well.<\/p>\n
While gambling in some form is found in most societies, some places are better known for casinos than others. For example, Monte Carlo is often associated with gambling and was the setting for several novels and films based on Ian Fleming’s James Bond series.
