Poker is a card game that has a great deal of chance in it. However, it also has a great deal of raw skill that can help you win.<\/p>\n
The game begins with a deal, where one or more players must make forced bets (usually an ante or a blind bet). After this, the dealer shuffles the cards and deals them face-up to the remaining players.<\/p>\n
Once the initial betting round is complete, the dealer puts three community cards on the table called the flop. Each player still in the hand gets a chance to bet, check, or fold.<\/p>\n
After the flop, the dealer puts a fourth card on the board called the turn. Again, each player gets a chance to bet, check, raise, or fold.<\/p>\n
When a player decides to fold his hand, it means that he no longer wants to compete against the other players. Typically, he only does this when he feels that his hand is too weak to compete against the other players.<\/p>\n
In poker, there are 10 basic ways to win:<\/p>\n
High card – This is based on the one card that has the highest value in your hand.<\/p>\n
Pair – This is two cards that have the same number.<\/p>\n
Flush – This is five cards of the same suit in sequence.<\/p>\n
The winner is the player who has the best 5 poker hand. The winner is decided by a series of betting rounds, each with an ante and a blind bet. The last round is called the showdown and the player with the best 5 poker hand wins the pot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
